Biography

I obtained a 1st class BA Physical Education degree from the University of East Anglia between 2012-2015 before moving on to Loughborough University, where I achieved a MSc in Sports Coaching with Merit. My main research interests focus predominantly around coach learning, coach education, mentoring and the sociology of sport. My MSc. dissertation reflects these interests where my study utilised the sociology of Pierre Bourdieu to analyse a formalised mentoring programme within sports coaching. In October 2016 I returned to the University of East Anglia to study a PhD under the supervision of Dr Kate Russell and Dr Lee Beaumont, with my thesis provisionally entitled:
‘You need to be a certain kind of person’: Exploring the learning and development of sports coach mentors
