Tarcisio Gazzini has taught at the University of Padova, the University of Glasgow and VU University Amsterdam. From 2014 to 2017 he has co-directed a project on “Foreign Investment in Africa: Gaining Development Momentum”. He is currently visiting professor at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva) as well as at the Geneva Academy of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. He has been a consultant for several governments on matters concerning public international law and foreign investments. He is currently a member of the International Law Association Committee on Role of International Law in Sustainable Natural Resource Management for Development. He also serves in the editorial boards of the book series on International Investment Law. He has written extensively on several topics across international law, ranging from the use of military force to economic sanctions, from international organizations to foreign investments. His publications include The Changing Rules on the Use of Force in International Law (Manchester University Press, 2006), The Interpretation of International Investment Treaties (Hart Publishing, 2016) and Public Participation in International Investment Law (co-editor, Brill 2020).
