I am a social scientist with keen interest on diet and health. Since working at the UEA, I have worked on several projects in health-related areas. My PhD award was for qualitative research on the psychological factors on fruit and vegetable consumption in young men (18-24). I like to explore new research methods and incorporate these with established qualitative and quantitative methods. I am a Graduate member of the British Psychological Society and the Health Psychology Division and a member of the Nutrition Society.

While looking after my children I changed career from catering to psychology and research. This gives me unique understanding of how to cook and what might stop people following a healthy diet. Since my undergraduate degree, I have worked for Social Services for ten years, managing a day centre for older people. Now, with my PhD, I have enjoyed a successful researching career at the UEA. I have worked on numerous projects on subjects including health literacy, obesity, rehabilitation, dehydration in older people. I am keen to gain funding to lead research following up ideas from my PhD.
