Biography

I am a PGR student primarily interested in the role played by the ocean in the global climate system using various approaches including numerical models and observational dataset. Currently, I am investigating how the ocean, especially the upper ocean properties, responds to the atmoshperic forcings resulting from the random, transient weather systems. High-frequency and small-scale atmospheric variabilities tends to not only introduce variability but also long-term and large-scale ramification effect into the coupled ocean-atmosphere system via the non-linear interaction between the two, and hence it is vital to properly resolve these variabilities in the climate models for better understanding and prediction on the climatic evolution.
