Key Responsibilities

I am the Academic Lead for the Consultation skills theme across the 5 year MB BS Programme. This role includes the regular review and revision of the curriculum to ensure that medical students graduating from Norwich are fully prepared for Practice in the NHS.

The consultation skills theme is a large component of the five-year medical undergraduate degree and involves the delivery of 64 half day experiential sessions and 11 whole cohort lectures each year.
In addition to the undergraduate teaching the team at Norwich Medical School also deliver 6 x 2 hours of foundation programme teaching at a local NHS Trust, an initial tutor training programme as well as an ongoing CPD programme for consultation skills tutors who teach on the theme.

I have additional enterprise & engagement commitments which include:

* Co-ordination of the East of England Advanced Communication Skills Training programme. A two day course aimed at senior clinicians delivered once or twice a month across the region.

* Communication workshops / masterclasses to other schools and professions across the UEA.

* Development of a masters level module in communication skills
