Polly is a solicitor and former Partner of a specialist family law firm which she co-founded.  A double graduate of UEA (LLB Law and LLM Family Law and Policy with distinction), she returned to UEA after a decade of legal practice, in order to teach. Polly has also taught at both Keele University, where she received awards from both the university and students for her work in supporting law students, and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, where she taught client care and legal research.

Polly is the department's family law specialist. She writes for her own blog, Polly Morgan's Family Law Guide, as well as for the Transparency Project, for which she is a committee member. The Transparency Project aims to demystify family law.

She is the author of the chapter on financial remedies in Family Law (editor Ruth Lamont) (Oxford University Press 2018) and is currently writing a textbook for the same publisher. Polly is also a specialist copy editor of legal and other academic books, particularly those which are for dual US-UK publication.

She is a senior fellow of the Higher Education Authority and holds a diploma in HE Practice.
