Biography

Pippa Belderson is a Senior Research Associate based at the Centre for Research on Children and Families in the School of Social Work.  Following a BA in anthropology and a MMedSci in nutrition, her PhD combined these interests, examining the influences on food choice in older adults. She first joined the UEA in 1999 as a researcher on the National Evaluation of School Breakfast Clubs, funded by the Department of Health.  Since then she has worked on a number of different research projects for the CRCF, including local evaluations of Sure Start, analysis of serious case reviews for the Department of Education and, most recently, a project for the Office of the Children’s Commissioner exploring how young people recognise and deal with problems of abuse and neglect.
