Nalini Boodhoo is Head of the School of Education and Lifelong Learning and Professor of Language Education.

She has held a number of responsibilities including Head of School (2010-2016) and current. She is currently Course Director for the MA in Second Language Education which she recently developed. Historically she was also the Secondary PGCE Course Director and Course Leader for the Modern Foreign Languages Secondary and Primary PGCE courses. She has taught on a range of undergraduate and post graduate taught courses.

Nalini supervises MA, MRes, Ph.D and Ed.D students in the areas of second language teaching and learning, language policy, education and development and teacher education.

Currently a member of UEA’s Senate, she also holds the role of Editorial Board member for the Cambridge Journal of Education, Compare and Impact - the  Journal of the Chartered College of Teachers

Before joining UEA she taught Modern Languages for several years in secondary schools in Manchester, Sussex and Kent working as a Head of Department, New Teacher Induction Coordinator and School Governor.
