Marta Fernández Campa is currently Senior Research Associate at the University of East Anglia, and has previously worked as postdoctoral research assistant and lecturer at the University of Reading and the University of Saint Louis (Madrid campus). Marta has been the recipient of fellowships from the Fulbright Commission and the Center for the Humanities at the University of Miami. In 2014, she won the Bernard Benstock Dissertation Prize and received a honourable mention from the David John Ruggiero Dissertation Award.

Her research has a comparative and interdisciplinary focus, exploring  diffrent critical engagement with counter-memory and historical erasure in contemporary Caribbean writings and visual artwork. Her current research examines authors’ recordkeeping interests and practice through archival research and interviews. She has published articles, reviews and interviews in Arc Magazine, Anthurium, Small Axe, Callaloo, Caribbean Beat and Comma: International Journal on Archives. She is also special projects editor at Caribbean InTransit.
