Biography

I started my career at Guy's Hospital in London where I completed my RGN training in 1985. I decided to pursue a career in midwifery after enjoying some exciting and challenging posts at Guy's including Acute surgical wards and A&E.

Midwifery has dominated my professional career since 1989 and I have loved every minute of it. I was appointed as Supervisor of Midwives in 2005 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn.

I have enjoyed numerous clinical roles (Midwife Grade E &F; Midwifery Sister grade G and Team Leader). During this period, I was employed by NSC at UEA as a sessional teacher.

I became a full time lecturer at UEA in 1999. Since starting at the UEA I have had general teaching responsibilities for Pre-registration and Post-registration groups. My areas of specialty are emergencies in childbearing and all aspects of professional practice and behaviour. I have been a plagiarism officer and Investigating Officer for the school.

In 2012 I was appointed Director Teaching and Learning (Student Affairs) and Chair of Fitness to Practise Review Group.
