Kamran Qureshi is an award-winning British Film and Television Director, as well as a Doctoral Researcher at the University of East Anglia where he teaches production as part of the MA Film, Television and Creative Practice programme. Kamran is working on the first-ever doctoral study that brings together theoretical readings on the representation of intersex people with professional practice in Film, TV and Media research. He is the Communication Editor at CHASE’s Brief Encounters Postgraduate Journal for issue 4 (2019-2020) and also a Governor at the Council of Governors at the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (2018-2020). Kamran is a founding member of KQ Movies Ltd (2018) and Evergreen Media Europe Ltd (1999). He is the recipient of the Best TV Film award at the Indus TV Festival 2003, the Best Director Series and Best TV Series awards at the Indus Drama Awards 2005, the Best Talk Show at the PTV Awards 2002, as well as four nominations for Best TV Director Series at the Lux Style Awards, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009. One of his productions was also nominated for Best TV Producer series (with Co-Producer Raheel Rao) at the Lux Style Awards 2010. 

Kamran has extensive experience in directing various media concerning women, mothers, children, young girls, intersex people and LGBT+. He has directed and produced content covering a wide variety of issues such as- child labour, child marriage, child abuse/prostitution, honour killing, religious intolerance, sexual abuse/rape, gambling addiction, drug smuggling and human trafficking. Kamran has also worked as a Digital video effects designer, Editor, Aerial/handheld camera operator as well as a Crane and Jib operator. He has worked with several global brands including Ariel, Nestle Nesvita, Nestle Nido, Lipton, John Player’s Gold Leaf, Coca-Cola, Fanta, Walls, Pepsi, WildCat and Barclays.

BA (Economics), MA (International relations), EMBA (Marketing and Advertising), PhD (professional practice in Film, TV and Media 2018-2021)followed by formal training in filmmaking from National Film & Television School; London Film School and London Film Academy.
