I joined the School of History as a Lecturer in Modern British History in September 2012, having completed my AHRC funded PhD. in the School earlier that year. Both my teaching and research focus on the histories of politics, diplomacy and political culture in Modern Britain.

My recent and forthcoming publications explore the multifaceted nature of female political influence in Victorian Britain. I am currently working on my first monograph - ‘A Female Politician: Mary, Countess of Derby, and the Politics of Victorian Britain' (OUP, forthcoming).

I serve as the course director for the MA in Modern British History and the BA in History and Politics.
