Academic Background

Jana is a Senior Research Associate at the UEA Norwich Business School working in the area of health and wellbeing at work.

She holds a PhD. in Management (Workplace Friendship and Anxiety: Organisational Insight through the Psychodynamic Exploration of Interpersonal Relationships) from the University of Essex and the University of Suffolk, a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the University of Suffolk, a Masters in Tourism Business Management from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Matej Bel, Slovakia, and  an Undergraduate Diploma in Economic Studies from Universite de Poitiers, Faculte des Sciences Economiques, France.

Prior to joining UEA, she worked as a HR Professional across a number of private and public sector organisations, specializing in employee relations, training and development, and people management matters. She also taught on a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Suffolk (People Management, Professional Development and Employability Skills). 

Her research interests are in emotions in organisations, health and wellbeing, creativity and social dynamics. She specializes in psychosocial qualitative research deploying psychoanalytic lenses. Her teaching interests are in organizational behaviour, work psychology and HRM.
