Teaching Interests

I have very extensive and far-ranging teaching experience spanning forty years. It includes teaching in primary and secondary schools, Further and Higher Education Colleges, and a number of Universities where I have delivered undergraduate and postgraduate courses and have also supervised to completion a number of PhDs and acted as internal and external PhD Examiner.  My teaching includes vocational, academic and professional programmes.

There are two main foci for my teaching, both closely related to my research. The first concerns EU governance, public policy and policy making. The second relates to corporate citizenship, corporate (social) responsibility and sustainability.

In the first area (EU governance and public policy), I have developed a number of modules and taught them since the early 1990s. With regard to CSR, I have created several modules and delivered them since the early 2000s.

At NBS, I have taught on the UG, MSc, and MBA programmes, delivering modules in ‘Corporate Responsibility’ and 'Strategic Management’. In 2019-20, I will be introducing a new module to the UG Programme on 'European Business: Brussels, Business, Brexit and Beyond' that examines the interaction between businesses and the EU.

I hold a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education and am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
