Biography

Jane is a Senior Lecturer at University of East Anglia. Her research interests in rehabilitation are both qualitative and quantitative. This broad area encompasses long term conditions within acute care and the community. She is particularly interested in respiratory medicine and the place of rehabilitation and participation.

She has been Principle Investigator for the HTA funded randomised controlled trial, MATREX, which investigated the clinical and cost effectiveness of Manual Chest Physiotherapy. Research funded by the Stroke Association has recently been completed investigating the efficacy and acceptability of functional Strength Training for people who have had a stroke at least six months ago.

She has supervised research students in both qualitative and quantitative methods and undertaken a number of locally commissioned evaluations using mixed methods.
