Dr. Francisco Costa is currently a Lecturer at UEA, where he has been teaching since 2010. He has taught courses on literature, cultural studies, drama and performance.

Francisco has developed his academic profile starting from a broader interest in the relations between literature and culture, gender and sexual identities, and political, social and historical power dynamics. Francisco was award The Arthur Miller Research Scholarship for his doctoral research project, which he completed at UEA.

In broad terms, Francisco's research, interdisciplinary in both scope and method, addresses queer approaches to dramatic literature and the relationship between theatre and performance and the wider socio-cultural and political contexts in which it is made.
