Academic Background

Katherine taught at Newcastle University and at Teesside University before coming to UEA in 2017 as Senior Research Associate. At UEA, she works with Professor Rachel Potter on an AHRC-funded project exploring writers' organisations and free expression. She is also teaching on the first year Literature in History module and on the third year Banned Books option.

She studied at the University of Sussex and at Newcastle University. She gained her Ph.D. in 2013 from Newcastle University with a project looking at representations of World War Two and nation in the novels of Margaret Storm Jameson. Her first monograph, based on this project is forthcoming with Bloomsbury (2020).
