Biography

Eugenia Loffredo has been working as a tutor at UEA since 2000. Previously based in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing, teaching literature and literary translation, she is now based in School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies, teaching Translation Studies and Italian.

Career

While studying for her PhD, Eugenia taught Italian language courses for Norfolk County Council, Adult Education Services, from 1997 until 2005, and worked as a translator from 1997 until 2002 with local translation agencies. As an associate tutor, Eugenia has been teaching in both LDC and PPL until August 2018, when she was appointed Tutor in PPL. Finally, she has worked as a supervisor and marker for the MA in ‘Translating Popular Culture’ in Department of Culture & Creative Industries, School of Arts and Social Sciences, City University, London, from 2012 until 2018.

Academic Background

In 1994 Eugenia obtained a BA in Literature and Philosophy with French (year 3 of the course spent at University of Nantes, France) from Middlesex University, London. In 1996 she studied for an MA in Literary Translation at UEA, where she also obtained a PhD in Literary Translation in 2002. She also completed a HND in Multimedia at the School of Creative Arts, City College in Norwich in 2006.
