Bruce Lyons is Professor of Economics and a founding member of the Centre for Competition Policy (CCP). He is Academic Advisor on competition economics to KPMG.  He was formerly Editor of Journal of Industrial Economics, Associate Editor of Economica, member of the EU’s Economic Advisory Group on Competition Policy (2004-17) and member of the UK Competition Commission (2002-11).  He has held visiting research positions at the European University Institute Florence and the University of Melbourne.

Bruce’s current research is focused on the economics of competition policy and particularly the implications of behavioural consumers. He is co-investigator in the ESRC-funded Network for Integrated Behavioural Science (which links economists and psychologists at the Universities of East Anglia, Nottingham and Warwick).  His research interests also include the economics of market structure and of ‘rescue and restructuring’ state aid.
