Dr Andrea Honess is an Associate Professor and Joint Course Director for the Doctorate in Educational Psychology. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and registered with the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA). Alongside her role at the University of East Anglia, Andrea practices as a Senior Educational Psychologist for a Local Authority Educational Psychology Service.

Andrea’s research interests include: use of video interaction guidance to facilitate reflective professional development and to enhance child-key adult interactions; concepts of school and community belonging and the development of children and young people’s identity; work with refugee and asylum seeking children and young people in schools; and the history of education particularly related to the development of philanthropic networks.
